Inspiring the Next Generation of Real Estate Developers
Greenhill was proud to sponsor and participate in the 2016 National Association of Industrial Office Properties’ (or NAIOP: Commercial Real Estate Development Association) Capital Challenge. Greenhill was this year’s site sponsor, offering a unique, real life case study challenge for the competing teams.
Each year, student teams from major local universities compete in a case study competition focusing on a real estate development/redevelopment project in the Washington, DC, and suburban Maryland areas. Teams receive the same real estate case study and are provided essential information and/or assumptions about the property. Student team members then create an investment strategy through a comprehensive analysis, offering project feasibility and financial recommendations that would maximize a property’s potential.
This year, student teams focused on developing a strategy for Greenhill’s property at the corner of Georgia Avenue and University Boulevard in Wheaton, Maryland. The winning school- George Mason University—was awarded a Grand Prize Scholarship of $10,000.
